Default 32nm Apple A5

32nm Apple A5 in the Apple TV 3 – and an iPad 2!

The previous generation A5, part number APL0498, was manufactured on Samsung Semiconductors’ 45 nm LP CMOS process. This new A5 processor is manufactured on Samsung’s new 32 nm high-k metal gate, gate first, LP CMOS process technology.
Looks like Samsung very possible to continues to manufacture A5X and A6 in the near future.

JeeBee will become famous soon enough

Sounds like a good pipe cleaner product to test 32nm. 70mm^2 is a far more reasonable size for an ARM SoC too.

I wonder if the iPad 2 with 32nm A5 has a longer battery life? I guess that the display uses most of the power though.
