I don't like this. What if Fermi comes next year?
By the way Fudzilla has an article about Hemlock is late...
Late from what, I ask? It will be in shops when the big shopping season arrives and they have several DX11 cards on the market. I don't see the point of that article, really. I guess the demand for Cypress is so huge that they had to push back the launch of Hemlock for a few weeks.
If he is counting how many minutes Hemlock is late than I am going to start counting how many quarters Fermi is late.

It would be weird if the Hemlock was slower than two 5870's in Xfire.
I wouldn't see the point of such a card really.
Just for the R&D point of view......except for the Number 1 slot for the single fastest card.

Hope its just faster than two5870's...

btw, Fuad is spewing so much lately, its a joke.

How do we know there is demand for Cypress when there aren't any for sale?

The cards being purchased as quickly as they are becoming available in stock means that demand outstrips supply.

Hmmm at say $589 for a single card solution it may not be such a bad thing marketing wise...and it will certainly sell compared to $700 or more for 2x HD 5870's. Of course there will be a problem if it can't beat two HD 5850's in crossfire.

Here in Italy, 58x0 are arriving almost weekly at my favourite shops but are almost all sold on preorders.

I decided to hold to my 4870x2 for a while to let the dust settle on this Dx11 thingie ((or if Hemlock or Fermi win my heart at some point ))

I just observe... Today NewEgg had an Asus HD 5870 for about 10-15minutes on stock. I don't think NewEgg got 2-3cards on one order from ASUS.

375W peak. That is not necessarily used, but yes, it is 2x8 according to my sources.

Why would you put out Hemlock when you currently have the fastest card(s) out there by a lot, and have more demand than you can meet?

That said, I think it is delayed, but by a few weeks, not anything big. I would guess that it is a marketing thing, I have not heard of any technical problems.
