Anritsu showed off a pretty vector signal generator and a spectrum analyzer at MWC this year. SemiAccurate doesn’t normally cover such things, but Anritsu really did right here so they deserve credit.
If you have ever been in an RF lab or really any semiconductor test or bring up facility, you will see a lot of very expensive boxes with blinky lights and more recently LED screens. These boxes start in the 5-digit range and go up from there, way way up. Most labs don’t have one or two, they have dozens, and Anritsu is one of a small number of vendors commonly found in these environs. Since SemiAccurate doesn’t normally cover this space, why are we showing what Anritsu did at MWC 2026?
Anritsu Fujin and Raijin test devices
While we have vague memories of Anritsu doing this kind of show special devices before, none grabbed us like these two. As best we can figure out, the one on the left is an MS2840A Spectrum Analyzer/Signal Analyzer and the one on the right is likely a MG3710E Vector Signal Generator. As you can see, neither is a stock color and if you follow the links, it is also clear that ordering either with lacquer art by Sato Kiyomatsu Shoten is also not an option. That said it should be an option, it would make some labs SemiAccurate has visited far less dire.
In any case, Anritsu did right here, they took traditional grey boxes with traditional blinky lights and turned them into traditional art featuring Fujin and Raijin. If you had to work with boxes like these day in and day out, which one would you prefer again? What Anritsu did is both very Japanese and very nice, props to them.S|A
