Nuvia Founders Have A New Startup, Nuvacore

They’re baaaaaaaack!

Nuvacore LogoThey’re Baaaaaaack! By they, SemiAccurate means two of the three co-founders of Nuvia, Gerard Williams III and John Bruno. This time around they are joined by Ram Srinivasan to form Nuvacore.

Not much to say about the new company at the moment other than to reiterate a bit of history. The team that (mostly) left Apple to form Nuvia was responsible for the killer M1 laptop CPU among other things. Their first venture, Nuvia, was bought by Qualcomm and produced the X Elite and X2 Elite CPUs, amazing parts hobbled by shitty everything around them. The cores this tight group produced are among the best of their time, no question there.

Their time at Qualcomm ended prematurely, and it was pretty clear what would happen next, and that something now has a name, Nuvacore. The new company site is pretty bare, just a mission statement and a lot of hiring options. Knowing several of the key players, it looks like a pretty tempting opportunity for any silicon designer and related disciplines. Once again it is going to be fun to watch, and I did this story without a single ‘core’ pun too.S|A
