Who Are The Qualcomm Enterprise Customers?

Two names so far and a pitch thrown in for free

Tomorrow Qualcomm is going to have their annual Investor Day and teased several enterprise announcements. SemiAccurate can tell you about one of the big ones, customers for their infrastructure program.

As you know, Qualcomm has been showing off their new infrastructure program for years, it’s roots go back to the Cloud AI 100 in 2019, a chip that kind of came out a year or so ago. The 200 and 250 are imminent, SemiAccurate thinks the 250 is likely to be announced without details tomorrow. The big question, other than the silicon itself, is who is buying the Qualcomm infrastructure offerings.

We will go into that but first a little aside. Qualcomm has dug a deep hole for their infrastructure program because they simply don’t understand how to message it. The same problem that lead to the stuttering failure of their PC program is being repeated and amplified on the enterprise side. Messaging may not determine the fate of a product but it sure sets the starting point for inquiries and mindset. Because of this, Qualcomm already has an uphill battle, a problem of their own making. It is honestly painful to watch.

So who are the customers and what is Qualcomm telling potential partners to entice them to buy? The first isn’t what we expected, not who but what, the second is not a good sign, but at least we have two names to share.
