Nvidia is launching the GB10/N1X today along with a few other goodies. The hype is already thick but SemiAccurate has the real story.
As you know, SemiAccurate has been chronicling this program for well over a year now. We told you about the display controller woes, the finger pointing with Microsoft, the power delivery problems, and the delays. And more delays. And more delays. We called the chip broken and unfixable. Nvidia said it was, “In full production“, we said Computex 2026.
It is Computex 2026, and guess what? It is being ‘launched’ officially but… Don’t believe the hype. It is also looking less and less like a real product and more like a second PR stunt.
What we do know is that it is over a year late, over power targets, under performance targets, and if Microsoft is any indication, very expensive. In short, don’t believe the hype.
And as a bonus, the GB200 servers are launching as a 5-digit cost edge workstation now too. On top of that, we are hearing that Nvidia is going to lock Linux out of the consumer products even though it runs just fine on the same silicon in Spark form. How nice.
