ASROCK HAS STARTED to make all sorts of products after the company severed most of its ties along with Pegraton from Asus earlier this year. Its latest addition is the Core 100HT which based on the same design as its ION 330HT boxes, but with one huge, important difference the Core 100HT features a choice of mobile Core i processors.

STARCRAFT II IS COMING and the game is only about a month away, but it seems like we’re already seeing the first licensed peripherals arriving from none other than Razer. Blizzard and Razer’s collaboration was announced in August last year, but it’s taken this long for Razer to release any details on the new peripherals. A new keyboard, mouse and headset have been announced and all three are, of course, adorned with StarCraft II motifs.

YOU MIGHT VERY well have used one of Linpus’ Linux distributions without even knowing about it, as the company specializes in custom Linux installations for a wide range of solutions, least not netbooks. The company has also made some customized versions of Moblin, but its latest project is something that looks extremely interesting, a version of Linux for ARM based PCTVs.

LEADTEK WAS ONCE one of the big names in the graphics card industry and although the company is still selling graphics cards, including the highly lucrative Quadro products from Nvidia, the company has branched out into other segments over the years. This year Leadtek was showing off a couple of interesting products at Computex, one for notebook users and one for those that work with video files.

PIXEL QI HAD some of their screens on display at Computex, and a chat with some of their engineers shed a lot of light on not just what they do but how. The screens may be made on the same tools as mainstream LCDs, but they are far from ordinary.

IT’S BEEN A LONG time coming, but Steve Jobs has announced the fourth generation iPhone at the WWDC 2010. Despite numerous leaks ahead of the launch, there seem to be very little that stopped Apple fans from cheering and clapping when the new handset was unveiled.

YOU MIGHT REMEMBER the name Crestatech from last year’s IDF, they are making the first software defined radio. The big news from Computex is that they showed real silicon, real cards, and real software up and running on broadcast TV.

OCZ IS MOVING toward enterprise SSDs in a hurry, but they didn’t stop there. The company showed off everything from PCIe SSDs to a new proprietary interface for drives.

VIA HAD A lot of goodies to show off at Computex, from USB to ARM to dual core Nanos. On top of it all, they had several of the buzzworthy ‘$100 tablets’ to show off.

INTEL DIDN’T HAVE much to announce at Computex as far as new products go, but they did offer a peek into the future. Sandy Bridge, Oak Trail, and Canoe Lake were things bandied about at Dadi Perlmutter’s keynote.

YOU MIGHT VERY well own, or at least have owned, a graphics card with memory from Etron Technology, or even some low cost DDR2 memory modules. However, the company has now started to move away from making DRAM and decided to start making USB 3.0 host controllers. By now you might start to say “not another one” but bear with us and you’ll see that these guys mean serious business.
