ASROCK HAS STARTED to make all sorts of products after the company severed most of its ties along with Pegraton from Asus earlier this year. Its latest addition is the Core 100HT which based on the same design as its ION 330HT boxes, but with one huge, important difference the Core 100HT features a choice of mobile Core i processors.

APPLE SURPRISED US TODAY by launching its new, completely overhauled Mac mini. The actual hardware specs haven’t been given a huge boost, but the rest of the system isn’t the Mac mini as you know it. Apple has somehow managed to shrink it down to a mere 1.4-inches (3.6cm) tall, compared to 2-inches (5.1cm) for the previous model. However, this is a small feat compared to the rest of the changes.

Get used to Kinect as a new “word” in the world of controller free, motion and voice controlled gaming. IT LOOKS LIKE SemiAccurate’s sources were dead on last year when we said that DFI was leaving the consumer motherboard business. It is a sad thing to say, but at this year at Computex, the company had no consumer products to show off at all, only industrial PCs.

IF YOU LOOK carefully enough you can find a wealth of interesting things at Computex and we spotted a tiny little board at DFI’s booth that turned out to be housing Intel’s Queens Bay platform. The Queens Bay platform is set to launch in the fourth quarter this year and is an Atom solution for embedded platforms.

THERE HAS BEEN a lot of buzz around Google TV since it was announced a couple of weeks ago and since we know the hardware is based on Intel’s Atom CE4100 SoC platform, we were quite surprised to see exactly that kind of solution hiding in plain sight among a range of server motherboards at Gigabyte.
